According to the factory letter, this model was introduced in 1898 and produced until 1909. Shipped from factory September 14th, 1905 and delivered to the famous San Francisco dealer Phillip Bekeart. It shipped with a 4" barrel, nickel finish, Style II engraving, and pearl grips. It is of the opinion of Smith and Wesson Roy Jinks that the work was done by Smith & Wesson engraver Oscar Young. The engraving is simple scroll on barrel, frame, and cylinder. Nothing elaborate but quite handsome. The latch and trigger guard are factory blued. Trigger is case colored. The beautiful mother of pearl grips are in near perfect condition with deep set gold medallion. CONDITION: Cylinder has some age freckling in the flutes and some blending loss on flats. Some age freckles on barrel. 90% high polish blue on trigger guard. Colors have darkened. Indexes and locks up perfectly. Near mint bore.
