This is an interesting sporting rifle on a very good action. The gun was customized by William E. Herron of Los Angeles, CA in 1955 and is accompanied by a neat grouping of original paperwork related to this project. The gun was custom stocked at that time by stockmaker Monty Kennedy and his original sales receipt is included in this lot. The gun has a 24" barrel with ramp blade front sight and fixed V rear sight. The full knob pistol grip buttstock is checkered through the wrist and has sling swivels near toe and at forearm. Forearm is also nicely checkered in a point pattern. Buttstock terminates with a 1/2" spacer and 1/2" black Pachmayr brand basket weave pad. There is a cheekpiece on the left side of the stock. The bolt is nicely jeweled. CONDITION: Excellent overall showing light field use. The gun retains most original finish to wood and metal with a few scattered light scratches here and there. Mechanics are crisp and bore is excellent. The paperwork is most intriguing and in very good overall condition. JSL
