This pistol was introduced in 1913 and manufactured until 1921 with a total production of 8,350. It was the first automatic manufactured by Smith & Wesson and its caliber was never available in any other pistol manufactured. Factory letter states this pistol shipped September 4th, 1914 to George A. Loewe Co., Ogden, Utah with 3-1/2" barrel, blued finish and smooth walnut grips. CONDITION: There is some wear at the muzzle and overall high edge wear throughout. Grip straps are thinning. Walnut grips retain approximately 70% of the original varnish. Good, solid 85% or better gun. As new inside.
