Steel buttplate is decorated with more relief scrolling vines and edelweiss all sculpted and pierced through and given additional depth by black paint on wood of butt. Engravers signature "B DEAN" is in relief at front of bottom metal. Lightly streaked and figured European walnut round knob pistol grip stock measures 14-7/8" over aforementioned steel buttplate; well carved shadow lines surround buttplate and cartridge trap. A triangular horn insert is behind action tang, checkering is of point pattern with broad mullered borders. Transition of forend to barrel is also nicely shaped. Weight: 6 lbs 11 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, as refinished. Barrel and action retain nearly all of a re-blue over some marks and scratches. Barrel blue is purple in hue. Bottom metal and cartridge trap retain nearly all of their custom coin finish. Stock retains most of an old oil refinish over numerous marks and scratches. Bore is very fine with slight erosion at throat, a bit dark in grooves. Action is smooth. MGM 75.
