Made by Pittsurgh, Pennsylvania maker Samuel McCosh. Features an octagonal rifled barreled with partially visible stamped "S. MC COSH" Unmarked percussion lock. Figured maple stock with cracked wrist and some forend restoration. Brass hardware with engraved four-piece patchbox with five piercings. Also features five silver inlays and silver barrel key escutcheons. Complete with contemporary replacement ramrod with is slightly short. CONDITION: Good to very good. Barrel and lock show a mostly dark patina with some freckling. Barrel has been cleaned around signature. Original percussion lock with set triggers, which function fine. Brass retains a dark patina and stock shows much of original finish.
