In 1977, Smith & Wesson produced 9,948 special revolvers to commemorative the 125th anniversary of the Smith & Wesson Company. Has a special marking on the barrel and right side of the frame that is gold filled. Features high polish blue finish, red ramp front sight, target adjustable rear sight, smooth Goncalo Alves target grips sans checkering with silver medallion. Same basic features as the Model 25, case colored wide target hammer and trigger, built on the N frame. The special edition came with mahogany display box and a book by Roy Jinks with special medal. CONDITION: Does not appear to have ever been fired. Just a ghost drag line and a couple minor handling marks. As new inside and out. Top of case lid is missing brass plaque.
