Standard Civil War issue rifled musket. Metal finished in the white. Lock is dated 1863. Left side barrel stamped "VP". Features three barrel bands, ramrod, two leaf rear sight, and one piece walnut stock with "ESA" cartouche on side that is visible but light and another cartouche that is visible but not readable. CONDITION: Clean metal with light age spotting in areas. Excellent stock with few handling marks. Strong rifled bore. Scattered pitting behind rear sight towards tang. Referred to as the Gettysburg Model as it was made the year that battle took place. Comes with period leather sling with brass hook and two keepers. Great example of primary Civil War US rifle.
