Offered is a nice, all original 1873 rifle with early features, including early 1873 rear sight that is not stamped with R, two piece trigger guard, two bands and swivels, and headless screws. The lock is dated 1873 with eagle. Long, thick wrist with sharp "ESA" cartouche in oval. Cursive "P" on bottom of wrist. Block stamped "US MODEL 1873". CONDITION: Barrel is a smooth blue, blending patina. Case colors have darkened. Walnut stock is sharp with just usual minor handling marks. Mirror bright bore. Comes with a period original leather sling with single brass hook and two keepers. CORRECTION: Serial number is 73545.
