This was one of first 1877 carbines produced. Fine "ESA" Erskine Allin 1877 dated cartouche. Parts include short fat wrist, pinned (unslotted) 1873 carbine rear sight without C, smooth trigger, 1873 eagle sidelock, front barrel band with swivel, post front sight, saddle ring and bar, trapdoor buttplate, and 1873 dated block. Script "P" on wrist. CONDITION: Wood is excellent with normal handling marks. Metal is a smooth, soft patina with sharp legends. Bore is shiny with strong lands and grooves. Very rare gun and comes with article on this carbine by Al Frasca with parts check list.
