This fine 1879 Saddle Ring Carbine has a sharp "SWP 1880" cartouche on left side for Sam Porter. This carbine still has the pinned 1873 rear sight stamped with "C", short fat wrist, smooth trigger, 1873 dated block, non-dated eagle sideplate, trapdoor butt, post front sight, and saddle ring and bar. CONDITION: Block has some really strong color present. Balance of metal is a butter soft patina with razor sharp legends. Stock is excellent with raised grain and a few very minor handling marks. Bore is mirror bright with sharp lands and grooves. A scarce high condition 1879 carbine.
