Lots of condition on this scarce 1879 Model carbine that features US 1873 bolt, trapdoor buttplate, updated 1884 rear sight, post front sight, and saddle ring and bar. Sharp "SWP" Samuel Porter 1882 dated cartouche on left side with cursive "P" on wrist. CONDITION: Barrel is a soft, clean, brown patina with sharp legends. Traces of color on bolt. Nice original blue on bands, trigger guard, and buttplate. Wood is near mint with few handling marks and some added varnish. Bore is shiny with strong lands and grooves. Really sharp 1879.
