According to factory letter, this gun was received in warehouse September 9th, 1902, featuring octagon barrel, plain trigger, takedown, Rocky Mountain front sight, sporting rear sight, in the rare and desirable .50 Express caliber. Other features include full magazine, rifle butt, walnut stocks. CONDITION: Barrel is a very pleasing and homogeneous 75% blue blending with soft patina, retaining its sharp edges and legends. Tube retains approximately 85% blue blending with patina, some light age freckling near forearm and 2" of wear from takedown. Generous amounts of blue on takedown letter, retaining band, and forearm cap are brown patina. The once case colored frame is basically brown patina although there are light traces of color on hammer. Loading gate has traces of blue. Patina on buttplate. Original walnut stocks are excellent with some minor storage marks, original finish, proud to metal. Fine action with an exceptional near mint bore.
