Reproduction Stevens 44-1/2 action in a No. 52 pattern with a No. 5 Schuetzen lever sans wood inserts. Double set triggers. The action is case colored and engraved with a white tail deer head on left side and oak leaves and acorns on the right. Tang is marked "Shuttleworth/Dingman's Ferry, Pennsylvania, USA/CPA" on upper tang. Lever is also case colored. Buttstock is in the pistol grip style with cheekpiece with an truly extraordinary fiddleback walnut figure and is checkered in a deluxe style. The Schuetzen buttplate is case colored. Forearm is of the Stevens two screw style with fancy checkering. 28" barrel, No. 3 weight, is drilled and tapped for a scope and is marked "Paul Shuttleworth". Barrel has a dovetail for a front sight which appears to have never been fitted. CONDITION: Case coloring on action and lever shows virtually all of the brilliant original colors. Schuetzen buttplate has no visible wear. There are no apparent marks on the blue on the barrel. This rifle appears to have never been fitted with sights nor shot as it is basically new inside and out with only a few minor handling marks. TR
