Face of the action is devoid of any markings. Action is fitted with double set triggers and a typical loop lever which has had a brass spur attached. Buttstock is not original and made of nicely figured wood. Buttplate is too large and does not fit correctly. The forearm is Stevens one screw style and is numbered to the action. Barrel is a 29-3/4" half octagon No. 3 weight, numbered to action, and non original "Short" mark. No front sight, early Stevens-Vernier tang sight. Accompanying this rifle is an extra Stevens barrel, chambered in .22 Long Rifle, 30", with a homemade forearm fitted for a palm rest which is missing and marked with serial number "3412" but in a different font. CONDITION: Action shows considerable but faded case color. Fine action and bore. Most bluing is present with wear on sharp edges of the octagon section of barrel. Extra barrel has an excellent bore.
