Non engraved case colored action fitted with double set triggers, Pope lever. Typical Pope Special pistol grip buttstock of fancy American walnut. Buttplate and Pope lever are nickel. Checkered Stevens forearm is two screw design and was factory fitted with a Stevens-Pope palm rest with a nickel base. Stevens-Pope number 1380 marked on the barrel under the forearm and on the false muzzle. 30" full octagon barrel, #4 weight. Globe front sight, Stevens-Pope rear. Sidle 24" scope fitted to rifle in unknown mounts, possibly Belding and Mull. CONDITION: Action retains most of the case coloring although it has faded. Buttstock shows signs of previous repair behind upper tang and at wrist. Pope lever and buttplate retain virtually all of their original nickel. Palm rest and forearm are both in fine condition. Barrel retains almost all of its blue, except for high edges. Scope optics need some work. Action is good, barrel is excellent. Previous history states that it was owned by Claude Roderick and Art Chafin, noted old time collectors. TR
