Scroll engraved case colored action fitted with double set triggers, Pope lever. Face of action marked 52. Buttstock of fancy American walnut and fitted with correct nickel plated buttplate. Stevens forearm in the two screw style is fitted with an incredibly rare Remington Walker palm rest. The 30" half octagon barrel is #4 weight and chambered for .22 Short. Front sight is missing, rear sight has base only. Stevens scope #474. Consignor reports that this rifle belong to Dr. W.G. Hudson, who was a very famous shooter in the past. Barrel and action are serial numbered together correctly. This rifle comes with an extra barrel, 30" long, half octagon, #3 weight, Stevens-Pope. Comes with its own forearm showing minor handling marks, fitted at one time with a palm rest which is currently missing. We believe that it is .28-30 but do not have the ability to check. Cast the barrel before firing. Stevens number 533, Pope number 611, barrel code "18/1.24". Extra dovetail on bottom towards muzzle and extra hole on bottom ahead of where the forearm would sit. Fitted with scope blocks, and the base only for a wind gauge front sight. CONDITION: Case colors have largely faded. Scope needs cleaning. Good action, both bores are excellent. TR
