Stevens 44 Action engraved, not etched, action fitted with double set triggers and correct 54 style lever. Face of action marked 54. Buttstock has straight grip and is checkered with the coarser style found on some 54 rifles. Correct 54 style buttplate. Stevens forearm is of the two screw design. Serial number on both lower tang and under barrel. Barrel is 32", half octagon, no. 3 weight, and fitted with an almost never seen Stevens factory false muzzle and starter. Barrel marked for .25-21. To make it even incredible, the .25 caliber false muzzle guns are almost unheard of. Globe front sight, Lyman tang sight with windage in base. Scope is a Winchester A5. CONDITION: Action has brilliant case coloring where not obscured by engraving. Lever has almost all of its case color. Buttstock has two significant scratches found on the buttstock finish, otherwise minor handling marks. Buttplate has strong case colors. Forearm shows very little wear. Good action with excellent bore. Optics are present but need cleaning. TR
