CONDITION: Barrel and tube retain approximately 90% original factory blue finish, mixing with a soft patina coming through, and minor age freckling. The octagon barrel has the Henry's Patent stamp, standard ladder rear sight and small blade front sight. Walnut stocks are equipped with sling swivels. Brass frame, buttplate and nose cap have never been touched and even has some of the verdigris around screws. The majority of the screws have generous amounts of the original fire blue finish. Loading gate is a blue-brown mix. Colors on hammer and lever have darkened. Walnut stocks are excellent with lovely finish, no cracks or dryness of any kind; has some usual bumps and bruises, forearm is a bit darker than the stock and buttstock is a bit shy to metal. Action is like new. Strong, clean mirror bore. A far above average 1866 octagon rifle.
