Factory research states this rifle left the factory as a .38 caliber 26" octagon barrel; with trigger "dittoed from serial number 224122 which has a ditto from plain trigger on serial number 224121 and 'Set' written over it.", checkered stock, pistol grip, and case hardened. Received in warehouse January 19th, 1887 and shipped from warehouse January 20th, 1887. Features include octagon barrel with full length tubular magazine, Rocky Mountain front sight and factory rear sporting sight, case hardened lever action with original blue dust cover, case color lever and hammer, single set trigger, highly figured front and rear pistol grip walnut stocks with case hardened crescent buttplate and forend cap. Front stock has a wrap around diamond pattern checkered panel. Rear pistol grip walnut stock has two checkered panels at the wrist.
