28" round barrel is cut for rear sight and fitted with two folding leaf express rear and silver bead front. Top is marked "STEVENS (WALNUT HILL)". Scope blocks are installed holding 6 X Fecker scope in micrometer mounts. Case hardened number 44 action with knob lever fitted with Lyman tang sight has "Stevens" marked on left side. Custom, possibly altered from original, pistol grip buttstock measures 13 - 3/4" over checkered steel buttplate. Grip is checkered and a hard rubber buttplate has been added. Matching long forend with diagonal hard rubber forend tip attaches to barrel with two screws. Weight: 9 lbs 4 oz. CONDITION: Fine, but altered. Metal retains 80-90% original finish with a number of scratches and blotches. Stocks refinished and reconfigured. Scope is fair to good, with lots of scratches and plier marks. Optically clouded. Bore is very good to fine with some pitting toward breech end. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Francis Brown. MGM 114.
