Blued action fitted with a spur lever and double set triggers. Lever stamped 454. Buttstock is made of fancy American walnut with checkered pistol grip with cap. Buttplate is a Laudersack style believed to have originally been case colored. Forearm of fancy American walnut is checkered with an ebony insert and fitted with a late style Winchester palm rest with a knob. 27-1/2" barrel, full octagon, number 3 weight. Marked "Nickel Steel" and in the highly desirable .25-35 caliber. Barrel is fitted with a Winchester wind gauge front sight and a Winchester-Vernier rear, as well as a Winchester A5 scope. Factory research shows this rifle shipped with a 30" number 3 weight octagon barrel (now 27-1/2") in .22 Short caliber (now .25-35) with mid-range Vernier and peep sights, no rear seat, and Lyman target front sight; checkered pistol grip stock with Schuetzen buttplate and cheekpiece, set triggers, takedown, spur lever, and palm rest; shipped from warehouse December 2nd, 1910. CONDITION: Bluing is starting to thin. Buttstock shows numerous minor rubs and scratches. Very little color remaining of buttplate. Forearm has minor handling marks. Bore is excellent and action is good. Optics are fine, may need minor cleaning. A handsome schuetzen in fine condition showing minor wear from shooting and handling over the years. A most desirable caliber and would make a fine addition to anyone's collection of American schuetzen rifles. TR
