Thin wall action, blued, and fitted with Winchester double set triggers and the late style schuetzen lever. Buttstock of highly figured American walnut has a pistol grip, grip cap, and is checkered. It is fitted with a cheekpiece. The buttplate is a Laudensack style, originally blued. Forearm is checkered, made of figured walnut, with an ebony insert and a base for a Winchester palm rest is installed, although there is no palm rest. Barrel is 30" long, full octagon, number 3 weight, marked Winchester Repeating Arms etc., and stamped for the caliber, ".22 Long R" for long rifle. Front sight is a Winchester wind gauge with very little original finish, rear sight is a Winchester-Vernier tang. Barrel is not drilled and tapped for a scope. CONDITION: Action has considerable blue wear on the top of the action. The rest of the action retains most of its blue. Buttstock finish is lightly crazed, and shows a few handling marks with a very small chip on the edge of the cheekpiece. Buttplate has very little remaining blue. Barrel blue is in excess of 90% showing some wear, especially on edges. Fine action, bore is dirty but excellent. Overall, a very presentable rifle that would make a great shooter. TR
