Blued action with double set triggers and special late style underlever. Schuetzen buttstock is checkered, fitted with a pistol grip with cap and cheekpiece. Made from dark fancy American walnut. Helm pattern buttplate appears to be reblued, turning somewhat plum. Forearm of fancy American walnut is checkered with an ebony tip and is fitted with a tuning fork Winchester palm rest. Barrel is 30" long, full octagon, number 3 weight. Front sight is a Winchester wind gauge style with spirit level, missing insert, with a Winchester-Vernier tang sight. An extra dovetail in the barrel has been filled. Factory research states this rifle shipped May 7th, 1913; no other information available. CONDITION: Action retains almost all of its blue with just a couple of minor scratches. Buttstock has a few very minor marks. Buttplate retains virtually all of its reblue. Barrel shows minor scratches, most of blue still present. Fine action with excellent bore. This rifle could stand to have a little loving care applied to it to turn it into a really wonderful example. TR
