Case colored action with with Stevens trademark stamp on left, no stamps on right. Action is fitted with double set triggers and a four finger loop lever. Buttstock is made of American walnut and features a pistol grip, sans checkering, and cheekpiece. Buttplate is a number 3 heavy Swiss, case colored. Stevens forearm is uncheckered, two screw design, and has had a custom palm rest inletted into it. Serial number and number 47 marked on lower tang. Barrel is 30" long, half octagon, number 3 weight. Stamped for .22 Long Rifle, and a very small "J. Stevens Arms and Tool Company, Chicopee Falls, Mass., USA" stamp. Front sight is a globe front, rear is a Stevens-Vernier. CONDITION: Action shows almost all of the original bright case colors with little or no wear. Lever has almost all of its original case color, slightly faded. Buttstock has only the smallest scratches etc. Buttplate has wear only on the tips of the prongs where they would rest on the floor. Barrel bluing is virtually all there with slight wear at the muzzle and the sharp edges of the octagon section. Excellent bore and action. This rifle is probably one of the last ones made at the Stevens factory. TR
