Nickel plated Hi-Wall action with nickel plated spur lever and double set triggers. Serial number on lower tang. Bottom of action is stamped "17", significance unknown. Buttstock features checkered pistol grip with cap and cheekpiece and is made of American walnut with a wonderful pattern. Buttplate is a Laudensack pattern buttplate, which is the later Winchester schuetzen style. Winchester forearm is checkered and has an ebony insert, with no space for a palm rest. 30" full octagon barrel, number 4 weight, has been reblued. Wind gauge front sight, no rear. Winchester A5 scope with dirty optics. Barrel has an extra dovetail that has been filled, probably from an early scope mount. Factory research states this rifle shipped as 30" .22 caliber half octagon number 3 weight barrel with set trigger, pistol grip checkered stock with Swiss buttplate, and spur lever; shipped June 23rd, 1905, returned and repaired April 24th, 1911 order 35205. CONDITION: Action has almost all of the nickel remaining. Wood has been refinished and shows only very minor handling marks. Barrel reblue shows almost no wear. Scope optics could use cleaning. TR
