Etched engraved case colored action with two squirrels on one side and a deer head on the other. Face of the action is marked 50. Fitted with a single trigger and three finger loop lever. Buttstock has a checkered pistol grip and cheekpiece and is made out of fairly fancy American walnut. The buttplate is a number 3 Swiss. Buttplate would originally have been case colored. Barrel is of number 2 weight, 28" long, half octagon, and correctly serial numbered to the action. Under the forearm is stamped the caliber, .25-21. Stevens forearm is of the one screw design and made out of checkered fancy walnut. Lyman wind gauge front sight and a Stevens-Vernier tang rear. CONDITION: Retains a considerable amount of bright case color on action. Buttstock is excellent, with very minor handling marks. Buttplate has only traces of case color remaining. Barrel shows numerous blemishes on the octagon section, most of the remaining barrel showing most original blue. A very rare rifle in excellent condition. TR
