Case colored action with single trigger, number 3 loop lever, case colored. Buttstock with pistol grip is not checkered. Made of plain American walnut and shows some oil staining by the action. The buttplate is a brass replacement. Uncheckered forearm is of the one screw style. Barrel is 28" long, half octagon, number 3 weight, marked "J. Stevens Arms and Tools", "3646" and for .28-30 caliber. Bead front sight and elevator barrel sight are fitted. It appears as though there was never a tang sight fitted to this rifle. CONDITION: Action and lever both retain virtually all of its original bright coloring. Barrel blue is virtually all there with just a little bit of wear at the muzzle. Wood is in wonderful condition with some very minor scratches, bumps, and assorted dings. Fine bore and action. Unfortunately the buttplate has been replaced, otherwise this would be an excellent collector piece. TR
