This standard German infantry rifle referred to as the Model 98 was the standard infantry rifle of World War II. It has the BNZ factory code for Steyr Daimler-Puch "Austria". The barrel is stamped with a "W" in a target and Bö, has full or partial matching serial numbers on frame, rear sight, bolt, both parts of the safety, forend cap, floorplate, inside stock, and trigger guard. There are no visible import markings. You will find the Waffenamp on the top bridge and right of receiver. There is a Nazi eagle on the left of the receiver, barrel, and receiver bridge. Has the walnut colored laminated stock. "42" stamped on bridge. Has hooded front sight, cleaning rod, period sling. Comes with oiler, ammo pouch, extra sling, and a cleaning kit. CONDITION: This gun is in excellent condition. All metal is basically a gun metal gray patina. A extremely difficult to find, non-import marked, German WWII Mauser. Comes with an original Mauser bayonet. Hilt is stamped "43 FNJ" Ordnance code (Alcoso-Stahlwarenfabrik GmbH, vormals Alexander Coppel &Cie., Solingen Germany). Serial number 1175 with blue blade, brown Bakelite scales in near mint condition. Scabbard serial number matches bayonet.
