Features proper small front sight, U-notch rear sight with beveled edges, long smooth trigger, checkered slide stop and safety, checkered wide spur hammer, flat mainspring housing with loop, and diamond checkered walnut grips. Right side of slide stamped "MODEL OF 1911 US ARMY". Left side of slide has patent dates, last date August 19th, 1913; pony at rear. Barrel is a replacement with no markings of any kind. Left side of frame is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" with Gilbert Stewart inspector stamp. Comes with two magazines, one of which is a two-toned, tempered with lanyard loop, the other is grey pinned base with no lanyard ring. CONDITION: Gun has been reblued. There is some pitting on the slide lock, three spots of pitting on left side of frame, light salt and pepper on left side of slide partially obscuring patent dates and pony. Retains most of the reblued finish. Grips are excellent with sharp checkering. Good shooter or parts gun and a great restoration candidate.
