Manufactured 1884 to 1903; approximately 6,000 manufactured. Features nickel plated iron frame without sideplate, push button tip-up action, single shot, checkered varnished walnut grips, nickel plated heavy buttcap, fire blue hammer, octagon to round barrel, dovetail globe front sight, and fire blue folding leaf long range rear sight. Buttstrap has "201(drill hole)5" matching number, with butt cap screw hole removing part of serial number. Frame is stamped "JS STEVENS". CONDITION: This example is one of the nicest we have ever seen. 99% rich factory blue on barrel with a touch of muzzle wear. Generous fire blue on screw heads. Near new checkered walnut grips. 99% original nickel plating on frame with a hint of freckling on trigger guard. The nickel plated should stock has had serial number ground off with the exception of a '7' at end; not matching. Some one has soldered a 1" ring near wrist to strengthen and not allow flexibility; retains 98% original nickel. Extremely nice, near mint bore with well defined rifling; still shiny. Beautiful gun in near mint condition, one of the harder to find top of the line Stevens single shot target pistols.
