Copy of factory letter confirms this Colt shipped on February 10th, 1908 in a one gun shipment in .38 Colt with 5-1/2" barrel, blued finish, and stocks not listed (standard gutta percha) to Schmulzer Arms Co., Kansas City, Missouri. This Bisley was expertly restored to near new condition but it had to be some time ago as there is striation and high edge wear at cylinder with some wear to muzzle. Gutta Percha grips have five kill marks on left side. CONDITION: Retains virtually all of the case colors on hammer and frame, retaining most of the shellac. 99% reapplied blue on barrel, 95% on cylinder, 99% on trigger guard and straps. Gutta percha grips are excellent. Indexes and locks up like new. Strong, shiny bore with light frosting. A mere 412 Bisleys in .38 Colt were made by Colt before 1914.
