This fine condition all original rifle displays two special order features: the extra 2" 26" octagon barrel and the double set triggers. Standard features include full octagon barrel, full magazine, German nickel sporting front sight, semi-buckhorn rear sight, tang sight, blue finish, with case colored hammer and lever, walnut stocks, rifle butt. Has the all metal-four piece cleaning rod in butt. Factory research mentions octagon barrel but does not list length but does list set trigger, shipped August 20th, 1887. CONDITION: Remains in used but well cared for condition. Barrel shows approximately 70% original factory blue, blending with soft base patina for a homogeneous eye appeal. The tube is a thinning blue with patina and a few age freckles. Frame retains approximately 50-60% of the original brilliant high polish Winchester blue on left and right sides, with the balance a smooth, soft patina. Traces of color on lever with some strong color on left side of hammer. Wood is excellent, proud to metal, raised grain with a few minor dings but overall near mint. Has a strong rifled mirror bore and a fine action. Far above average with a couple scarce special features.
