Offered is an antique serial range Winchester Model 1894 with the following special features: half octagon barrel, half magazine, takedown, express rear sight, pistol grip stock, shotgun butt, Lyman 21 receiver sight. Factory research confirms all of the above but there is no mention of takedown and lists trigger as plain. Shipped September 26th, 1898. CONDITION: The barrel is a solid, smooth blue brown patina mix with sharp legends and edges. Rear sight still has high polish blue finish. Frame and forend cap are a soft smooth brown patina, case colors have patterned out. Walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal, with Winchester logo buttplate and grip cap. Wood has a few minor dings and some thinning of the checkering but pattern still all there. Fine action and a strong, well defined lands with grooves a bit frosty. A beautiful extra special rifle that was used but well cared for and ordered by a man who knew exactly what he wanted in a sporting rifle.
