Made in 1917 per factory letter, this gun has 28" Titanic barrels are marked with Parker Brothers Meriden address and Titanic steel on standard matted rib. All correct markings are on water table and lumps, including frame size "1". Case hardened action with correct markings on water table features automatic safety and nickel plated double triggers. Action is engraved in standard "DH" Grade style with 80% coverage varying sized scroll, with some scroll and geometric borders surrounding oval vignettes of dogs on sides; pointer on left, setter on right. "PARKER BROS" is on band behind dog scenes. A group of four pheasant are on trigger plate. Blued trigger guard with scroll on bow has serial number on tang. Lightly marbled European walnut with Parker capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/16" over skeleton buttplate. Usual drop points and point pattern checkering are at grip, and a silver oval at toe line is engraved "JAJ". Matching splinter ejector forend with usual release and forend tip has ejector patent date on iron. CONDITION: Very fine. Barrels retain approximately 85% original blue thinned on sides from normal hand wear. Action retains 30-40% nice original case color, quite strong where protected. Trigger guard retains about 15% original blue, considerably flaked on bow. Stocks retain most of their original varnish finish, checkering has darkened nicely. Bores are very fine, mostly bright and shiny. Action is tight. Ejectors are in time. Screw slots are nice and crisp as expected on a nice untouched and well cared for gun. Gun is accompanied by a tan canvas case with leather corners, lined in green felt, in good condition and the case is period to the gun. Really a nice DHE 16ga in overall very fine original condition.
