Made in Ilion and one of the last 750 guns produced, this rare Parker 28 gauge has both condition and in a great configuration - a 28" barreled "00" frame skeet gun! This skeet configured gun has a straight grip buttstock of flame grained American Walnut (typically nice wood we see on late Remington produced guns!) checkered in two point pattern through the wrist which terminates in a "No-Shoc" brand pad and has a nickel shield near the toe which is unengraved. The 28" Vulcan Steel barrels, without rib markings, and twin ivory beads are marked with serial number on barrel flats, and marked "Skeet In / Skeet Out". The left lug is marked "V Grade 28ga / 2-7/8" shells" and rear lug marked "00". Flats also show Remington production codes of "BK" indicating DOM of January 1941. Bottom rib with proper reinforced barrel lug. The beavertail forend is checkered in 3 point pattern with Deeley release and has proper reinforcement screw at muzzle end. The frame is engraved in typical VH Grade pattern with zig-zag border pattern and engraved "Parker" on bottom of frame. Original "Parker" Single Selective Trigger. CONDITION: Excellent as partially restored. Barrels retain about 85% of what appears to be original blue with light areas of thinning at grip. Stocks retain nearly all of an older restored finish with only very minor impressions. Pad is just beginning to mushroom at heel. Action retains about 40%+ nice case colors, mostly on sides and near base of trigger plate, toned elsewhere. There are a couple of bumps on the bottom of the action where it is engraved "Parker" that do not detract from the gun in any way but worth noting. Trigger guard retains about 1/2 of its original blue - toned at grip but stronger on bow and at back of long tang. Bores are bright and shiny with some leading from recent use. Mechanics are crisp. These 28 gauge skeet guns don't come around every day and this gun is particularly rare with the 28" barrels!
