Proofed in 1979, this dandy little gun was made short after Mario Abbiatiatico and Remo Salvinelli set out to build the world’s finest guns. This wonderful gun represents a combination of top notch gunmaking coupled with exceptionally fine embellishment. Finely struck 26" demi-bloc barrels are fitted with narrow, matted, ventilated rib, engraved “Abbiatico & Salvinelli” on left side of top barrel. Bottom flat is stamped with 1979 Italian nitro proofs, serial number, and “A&S”. Single non-selective trigger, auto-ejectors. The coin finished, low profile, over/under sidelock action is nicely filed and features non-automatic safety ("S" engraved in front of safety button) and single non-selective trigger. “0” is gold inlaid on top strap under top lever. Action is engraved with incredible relief scroll and floral pattern by master engraver G. Pedersoli. The left lock is full coverage engraved in a beautiful relief scroll engraved which extends toward the hinge. The bottom of the action is beautifully engraved with relief pattern and engraved "Abbiatico & Salvinelli" in ribbon on bottom. Right side of action is engraved in same pattern as left. Fences, top tang, top lever, and trigger guard bow with minute scroll engraving, relief engraved scroll at trigger guard tang. Rolled edge trigger guard and engravers signature, "Pedersoli, Inc." engraved at front of bow on trigger plate. The nicely figured European walnut straight grip buttstock, with tear drops behind locks is checkered in two point pattern through the wrist and terminates in a finely checkered butt. The slim forend is checkered in a diamond point pattern with engraved slide latch and makers crest at center. Housed in its original Nizzoli brown leather case with red velvet interior. CONDITION: Extremely fine and likely test fired only. Gun retains more than 98% of its original coin finish with minor high point edge wear from storage, not use. Virtually all original finish to both wood and barrels remains. Engraving is crisp. Action is tight as new. Wood with only the very faintest of handling marks. Case is good with scuffing, interior shows some minor wear. Snap caps and oil bottle are tarnished. The quality of the relief engraving on this gun is incredible!
