This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/25/2019
Lot consists of: Fine pair of silver plated and engraved Colt Bisley revolvers. To create this fine pair of Bisley revolvers, the consignor bought two original guns. Gun (A), serial number 327604, was shipped in standard blue and case hardened finish with 4-3/4" barrel in .32-20 to Richards & Conover in Kansas City, Missouri on October 3rd, 1913. Gun (B), serial number 247467, was basically the same configuration but with 5-1/2" barrel, and shipped to Lee, Glass & Andreesen Hardware Co. of Omaha, Nebraska on September 3rd, 1903. At this point, both revolvers were fitted with 7-1/2" .45 Colt caliber barrels and cylinders, engraved in the 19th century Colt style of scroll and punch dot background, and silver plated with fire blue accents including trigger. Balance of guns feature two-thirds engraving, have been silver plated, and have been fitted with a matching pair of real stag grips that fit beautifully. CONDITION: Both revolvers have some very minor handling marks. The stag grips are near mint. Sharp legends. Neither revolver appears to have been fired since finished. Absolutely one of the best sets of Bisleys we have ever seen; the engraving is tasteful and in the early style. Housed in a French fitted Colt display case.
