Rifle features full round barrel, full magazine, German nickel front sight, Winchester semi-buckhorn rear sight, blued finish, case colored hammer, lever, and buttplate, rifle butt, walnut stocks. This fine, all original rifle is chambered for the popular .38-40 cartridge, which was known as a faster and flatter shooting choice over it's .44 big brother with ample stopping power and its availability in numerous Western handguns made it an ideal choice for the range. CONDITION: Barrel and tube are a homogeneous and pleasing blend of blue and soft patina with sharp legends. Both sides of the frame retain approximately 75-80% of the bright factory Winchester blue finish with brown patina blending through from beneath. Traces of color on hammer, lever has basically patterned out, nice blend of blue on forearm cap and blue-brown patina on buttplate. Stocks are excellent, proud to metal, with no cracks or ships and a few minor handling marks. Fine action and a bore with sharp lands and grooves. Far above average rifle in a great caliber, nice enough to collect or shoot.
