At the request of the United States Boy Scouts in 1913, the Remington Co. designed a military style rifle with a 28" barrel and full length forearm secured by one barrel band. This rifle was made without bayonet stud. The designation Boy Scout was changed to Military Model in 1915. This is one of the hardest to find of all Remington .22 boys' rifles. There is a rack number 27 on right side of stock, probably boy's shooting team. This rolling block action features small military style rear sight, dovetail front sight, smooth steel buttplate. CONDITION: Right side of frame retains approximately 75% case colors. Left side of frame retains approximately 40-50% case colors. Nice blue on screws. Stocks are in excellent condition with no cracks. Barrel is stamped with "MODEL 4S", "REMINGTON" and patent dates. Buttplate is blue-brown patina. Strong, well defined rifling. Fine action. Far above average condition and extremely difficult to find this nice.
