Revolver features a grey satin nickel finish with deep relief hand engraving and a scroll pattern. Left side has gold inlaid fox, bobcat, and quarter moon. Right side has gold inlaid bear, dead deer and antlered game. Six total gold pieces. Sports a pair of more contemporary silver medallion rosewood diamond checkered finger groove oversized grips. Comes with target hammer and trigger, blued adjustable rear sight and blued front sight. Bottom of frame is signed by engraver "BRYSON JAMES GWINNELL". Excellent condition with some light age freckling in cylinder flutes, at base of frame and bottom of barrel; should polish up nicely. Indexes and locks up like new. Strong, clean bore. When grips are removed, you will see a rather crude repair to the inside portion of the grip frame that was welded and a homemade spacer placed between frame and mainspring. It is efficient and solid but poorly done and does not affect look or function as the grips completely cover it. A competent gunsmith could improve this home gunsmith quality job. Bryson Gwinnell began his career at Smith & Wesson before working for a custom knife and engraving company, Colt and the U.S. Mint before finally working freelance for private collectors, Colt, Winchester and Parker. His work has been on the cover of most major firearms magazines and on the cover of Tom Turpin's "Custom Firearms Engraving"; Gwinnell has also won several awards for his work, including the Howard Dove Award, several times, at the Colt Collectors Show.
