Dovetailed barrels are engraved "Cogswell & Harrison Ltd 141 New Bond St London" on slightly swamped game rib. Barrels are 27 - 1/2" and do not appear to have been cut. Barrel flats are stamped with London nitro proofs for 2 - 1/2" chambers. Barrels are fitted with C&H patented ejector spring housing. Boxlock action with ornamental sideplates features automatic safety, crossbolt third fastener, and double triggers. Action and lockplates are engraved with 80% coverage well cut attractive large scroll. Top lever, floorplate, trigger plate, and trigger guard are blued and also scroll engraved. Serial number is on trigger guard tang. Nicely streaked European walnut straight grip buttstock with interesting quilted figure measures 15 - 1/4" over serrated wood butt on 1" lengthening piece. Flat top point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching splinter forend with shaped steel tip has roller friction release. Gun is accompanied by an old tan canvas and leather trimmed case lined in purple cloth, which contains some cleaning equipment. CONDITION: Good, original, as found condition. Barrels retain most of their original black. Action shows old cleaning; mostly silver, toning to gray and brown. Blued parts retain 20 - 30% original blue. Stocks retain most of their original finish, quite thin, with numerous marks. Checkering has not been re-cut. Forend has patches of missing diamonds. Bores are fine slightly frosted. Action is slightly loose. Barrels are somewhat off face. Ejectors are slightly out of time. Canvas of case is considerably faded. Straps and handle are good. Interior cloth is very faded, rubbed and soiled. Well made British small bore in need of a little TLC.
