This gun is a duplicate of the Colt 1851 Navy revolver presented by Sam Colt to Jefferson Davis, who went on to become the president of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. The gun is beautifully engraved and has an engraved and inscribed buttstock attached. The yoke of the stock has an inscription from Sam Colt to Mr. Davis. No. 42 in an edition of 1,861. Finished in blue and case coloring with plated straps and oil finish walnut stocks. Top of barrel is engraved "JEFFERSON DAVIS COMMEMORATIVE" and "BEAUVOIR LTD EDITION". Features two-thirds coverage scroll engraving. Barrel engraving exhibits gold wash. Equipped with lanyard in front and butt is cut for shoulder stock. Walnut shoulder stock is engraved and silver plated. CONDITION: Gun does not appear to have been fired but there are a few handling marks. Stock is excellent. The gun comes in a glass top presentation case with accessories. A beautiful and historical piece.
