Made in Paderborn, Germany, likely around 1880-1890, this interesting drilling, made with back action locks is full coverage engraved and exhibits nice quality. The barrels have a matted flat rib with V notch rear sight and blade front sight. Rib inscribed "I. Zeller In Paderborn". The underside of the barrel with serial number, proof, and caliber markings. Forend is near full checkered with Deeley type release and Schnabel tip. Silver bands at breech ends of barrels. The full pistol grip buttstock is checkered in a two point pattern through the wrist and has a cheekpiece on the left side and terminates with a full steel buttplate. Buttplate with serial number, proof marking, and engraved screws. Action is full coverage engraved with acanthus leaf engraving pattern with running setter on left lock and stag on right. Top lever and under lever are also engraved. CONDITION: Very good as partially restored. Barrels retain about 85% of what appears to be an ancient restored blued finish, though could be original. Action is a pleasing gun metal grey color. Stocks are sound, as restored with missing sling swivel toe and hole present. Bores are good with minor orange peel.
