26 - 3/8" and 28" barrels, both with narrow, ventilated ribs, are marked with Browning St. Louis and Montreal addresses along with "MADE IN BELGIUM" on left side of top barrels, and with steel, gauge, and chamber information along with patent numbers on top rights. Short barrels are marked for Improved Cylinder and Modified, and longer barrels are marked for Modified and Full. Numbers match on both barrel sets. Coin finished small sized superposed action features gold plated single selective trigger, and is engraved in normal pigeon style with attractive scenes of pairs of pigeons flying through a field of simple scroll on sides, and with rose bouquets on bottom. Fences are nicely relief carved with oak leaves and acorns. Nicely crotch figured American walnut short tang round knob buttstock measures 14 - 1/4" over composition Browning buttplate. Well cut point pattern checkering is at grip. Field forends match well. Gun is housed in its original tan Hartmann case with space for action and both barrel sets. Case is lined in faun faux fur. Case contains instruction booklet, guarantee, and two keys. CONDITION: Excellent, with evidence of limited use, with a few scattered marks in metal finishes, and a number of light scratches, mostly on left side of butt. Checkering still very light in color. There is no indication of any salt damage on either forend, however there appears to be some salt induced rusting of interface between top of action and stock behind fences. Bores are excellent. Mechanically excellent. Case is excellent. MGM148.
