(1907 per factory letter) 30" dovetailed barrels fitted with fairly wide concave rib are engraved "Holland & Holland" and "98. New Bond Street, London." on tops. Barrel flats are stamped with London nitro proofs for 1-1/4 oz of shot (2-3/4) and 1972 London reproofs for 3" chambers at 3-1/2 tons (non magnum). Case hardened "Royal" sidelock action features automatic safety (originally specified as non-automatic, but converted by the factory at time of re-proof), gold band tumbler end cocking indicators, and double triggers. Gun is not fitted with hand detachable locks as this feature was not patented until 1908. Action and lockplates are engraved in classic Holland "Royal" style with nearly full coverage very nicely cut varying sized open shaded scroll with some floral and strapwork highlights. "Holland & Holland" is in classic arched device on each lockplate. Bottom of action is engraved "Royal" "Hammerless" "Ejector". Blued top lever is engraved "Patent Ejector". Trigger guard is also blued, scroll engraved, and serial number is on short tang. Nicely figured and streaked European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14 - 1/4" over dark brown leather covered pad. Stock features drop points, point pattern checkering on diamond hand, and a vacant gold oval on toe line. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. Later brown leather case with stitched leather corners is lined in green felt. A paper Holland & Holland label is in led along with cleaning information, and a charge card with information for this particular gun. Case contains fairly new accessories including Holland & Holland marked snap caps and oil bottle, 2-piece cleaning rod along with mop and brush in leather pouch. A bone striker bottle with this guns serial number taped around outside, contains a pair of strikers. CONDITION: Very fine, as lightly refurbished at time of re-proof. Barrels retain nearly all of a "best" London re-black. Action and locks retain approximately 80-90% original case hardening color. Top lever and trigger guard re-blued. Stocks lightly refinished, checkering cleaned. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Barrels are on face. Ejectors are strong and in time. Case leather is very fine with some minor marks. Interior cloth is very fine to excellent. Labels are somewhat foxed. Accessories are excellent. A great handling gun with excellent measurements and dimensions. MGM 133.
