28 - 3/4" Barrels are fitted with full length matted rib holding pop-up rear sight. Makers name and address and titles along with steel information are engraved on tops. Barrel flats are stamped with Imperial German nitro proofs for 16 gauge, and 8.7mm rifle bore (358). Case hardened under lever action fitted with peninsula back spring locks having rebounding serpentine hammers; has rifle/ shotgun selector on top tang. Front trigger is set. Action and locks are engraved with near full coverage large scrolling shaded acanthus in typical Germanic style surrounding game scenes; a stag and hind are on left side of action with running doe on right. Three partridge are on left lockplate and a pair of ducks are on right. Lightly figured European walnut round knob buttstock measures 13 - 3/4" over serrated horn buttplate. Stock features Tyrolean right hand cheekpiece and point pattern checkering. Matching splinter schnabeled forend has Deeley release. Weight: 7 lbs 0 oz. CONDITION: Fine. Barrels retain most of their original blue, considerably worn from normal hand wear on sides. Action retains perhaps 30% original case color, remainder silvering and turning brown. Stocks retain most of their original finish with a number of very light marks. Bores are very fine to excellent. Action is tight. Locks are excellent. A very nice hammer drilling. MGM194.
