Made on a #6 frame in 1911, this gigantic 8 gauge has been given wonderful embellishment and is an absolute show stopper of a gun. It was originally built as a 38" twist barreled P Grade. Today, the barrels have been blued and still have the original rib legend present. The breech end of the barrels have a 3" wedge of scroll engraving with gold barrel bands. The original unstruck barrel weight was an astounding 8lbs 12oz! The custom large splinter forend with engraved Deeley release is checkered in a three point pattern. The custom straight grip buttstock is checkered in a three point pattern through the wrist, and is lightly carved in scroll and wave pattern behind the action, with tear drops and terminates with a checkered butt. The French greyed large sized action is near full coverage engraved in shaded scroll engraving with two large gold geese on left side coming in to marsh, a large gold inlaid hunter and his dog cleaning ducks on the bottom of the trigger plate, and two large ducks on right in woods and marsh scene. The breech balls are deeply chiseled in scroll pattern with shading. The blued top lever is near fully engraved as is the top tang. The long tang trigger guard with gold line accents at bow and serial number in gold at tang is also nicely scroll engraved. The quality of the workmanship is quite nice, and we attribute it to Walter Kolouch as there is a small "W.K." noted on the top tang. CONDITION: Excellent as customized. Barrels retain nearly all of their custom blued finish with some small old pits found under the forearm, and a small area of the rib matting having been cleaned up and re-engraved before bluing. Bores are bright and shiny. Action retains nearly all of its custom gray finish with top lever, trigger guard, and some screw heads having been blued. Stocks retain nearly all of their custom finishes. Mechanics are fine, though there is a hint of looseness in the hinge when assembled. This really is a cool upgrade by a very talented engraver who is well known in the Parker world. The gun turns heads at every show we have taken it to and will fit in to any high art gun collection!
