The 'duv' factory code was assigned to Berliner-Lubecker Maschinenfabrik, Lubeckplant, Germany. Rifle is dated 42 on receiver bridge. Serial number 9872 is stamped on frame, safety, safety switch, bolt handle, left side of laminated stock, trigger guard, floorplate. The serial number on the scope mount is 9872; the scope if a long eye-relief ZF41/1. Rifle has a war-time blue finish, hooded front sight, cupped steel buttplate, laminate stock and forend. Stock is number 2356. Waffenamt stamps on frame and breech of barrel. CONDITION: Finish is basically now blue-brown patina. Stock and forend are excellent. Comes with original period leather sling. Scope and mounts are original blue-brown patina with flashes of blue. The lifter has the last two digits of 72 with Waffenamt stamp. Wood is excellent to near mint with just a few minor dings. Strong, defined rifling; slightly frosted. Line and post optics are clean. Overall, an excellent all matching ZF41/1 equipped Model 98k early war sniper rifle with probable replacement stock.
