Features of the NRA Sporter include full round barrel, standard 03 front sight, no rear barrel sight, Lyman 48 right side mount receiver sight, commercial blued finish, pistol grip walnut stock, double bolt, no hand groove, sling swivels, checkered buttplate with no trap, serrated and checkered trigger, and all milled parts. "NICKEL STEEL" stamped bolt finished in the white. Barrel is stamped "SA 9-30". Star gauge on end of barrel. According to the Springfield Research letter US Model 1903 factory sporter serial number 1367063 was sold to Howard Dow Clute of Arlington, Iowa on April 15th, 1932. CONDITION: Barrel and frame retain approximately 95% of the original armory blue finish with a few handling marks. 98% original blue on floorplate and trigger guard. Wood stock is near mint. Near mint bore. ME reading: 1. Simply a beautiful, all original NRA Star Gauge sporting rifle.
