Arguably the finest known existing British Military revolving carbine. Features the 21" part octagon barrel, brass front sight, two leaf folding military rear sight, blued finish, case colored side hammer and loading lever, small variation brass trigger guard, blued steel rifle buttplate, saddle ring and stud on left side, five shot fluted cylinder, rifled barrel, and walnut stock. You will find matching serial numbers on trigger guard, frame, barrel, buttplate, and cylinder. Top of frame is stamped "COL. COLT HARTFORD CT USA". Side of frame is stamped "COLTS PATENT V2". Gun is fully British proofed including every cylinder flute and left side of barrel. CONDITION: Aside from a bit of brown patina showing through the blue on the cylinder and some brown patina under the blue on the barrel, the gun retains approximately 97% of the original high polish Colt finish. All original nipples. Cylinder shows no signs of burn or having ever been fired. Retains most of the nitre blue on screws. Brass is lightly toned. Nearly 100% case colors visible on hammer and lever. Buttplate retains 85% original high polish blue. Fire blue on screws with overall age freckling. Walnut stocks are excellent and proud to metal; you can still feel the raised grain. Has a period original tampion. Near mint rifled bore. Nobody in this organization has ever seen a finer, near new Colt British carbine and would fit the finest collection as the best original, untouched example extant. Museum quality.
